DAY 1: USA/ISRAEL Today our tour members meet at our International Airport for checkin formalities. After we board our flight dinner and breakfast are served aloft and we have time to rest. DAY 2: TEL AVIV Today we arrive in Israel, landing at Ben Gurion Airport. Following brief airport formalities, we board our motor coach and go directly to our hotel. After we have checked into our hotel, we then enjoy a dinner together and overnight. DAY 3: CAESAREA/MEGIDDO NAZARETH/CANA/TIBERIAS This morning we begin our day along the coastal plain and the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea. This ancient port was built by Herod the Great. We will tour the fortress used by the Crusaders. It was here that the first Gentile, Cornelius the Centurion, and his household were baptized. We continue to Haifa, Megiddo an the Valley of Armageddon. This will be a highlight in our journey, since a worship service will be held in this prophetic spot. There will be time to visit the historical military fortress that controlled the highway between Egypt and Mesopotamia. We will see the excavation and museum showing how this famous hill served such an important function in the wars of antiquity. We continue on to Nazareth, seeing Cana of Galilee and arriving at Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee, where we spend the night. DAY 4: TIBERIAS/SEA OF GALILEE/BOAT RIDE/CAPERNAUM/JORDAN RIVER We rise early this morning to view the beautiful shore of the Sea of Galilee. After Breakfast, we will board a motor launch for a cruise across the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum. After our visit to the ruins of the 2nd century synagogue, we will proceed to Tabgha, place of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes. We will also see the Mt. of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon of the Mount. A delicious St. Peter's fish luncheon will be waiting for us at a famous resort along the Galilean seashore. Immediately following this delightful meal, we proceed to the Jordan River, where we will experience a time of spiritual blessing never to be forgotten. We return to our hotel on the lovely shore of the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight. DAY 5: JERICHO/QUMRAN/DEAD SEA/MASADA This morning we journey through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, the old Caananite city destroyed by Joshua. It is the oldest known inhabited city in the world. We will see excavations of Jericho, the mountains of Moab, Elisha's fountain, and view the Mt. of Temptation. After a brief stop for lunch we make our way to the Dead Sea and on to Masada. We ascend Masada by cable car to visit the ruins of the fortress where from 70AD the Jewish defenders made the last stand of the Judean revolt against Rome. We will view the fascinating remains of storehouses, cisterns, and a 6th Century Byzantine Church. Today we will follow the footsteps of Jesus as we make our way to Jerusalem. Our first sight of the Golden City will be from the Mt. of Olives area. Dinner and over night at our hotel in Jerusalem. DAY 6: JERUSALEM/BETHLEHEM Today we will begin our day of touring at the Mt. of Olives and descend on foot to the Garden of Gethsemene. Ancient olive trees still stand there, some more than 2000 years old. Next we visit the House of Caiphas, where Jesus was held the night before His crucifixion, then on to Mt. Zion and the Upper Room where we will have a time for devotion and worship. This afternoon we will visit Bethlehem, the church of the Nativity and the Shepherd's field. We will also view the fields of Boaz and Ruth. Our drive back to the hotel will take us DAY 7: JERUSALEM Today we will travel backward 2000 years as we take a walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem. We begin at the Jaffa Gate and visit the Jewish Quarter, then on to the "Wailing Wall" and Mt. Moriah, which is called Temple Mount. Here on the site of Solomon's Temple stands the Dome of the Rock and the El Aksa Mosque. Mt. Moriah was the site of Abraham's offering of Isaac as a sacrifice. After lunch, we will see the old Crusader's Church of St. Ann, the pool of Bethesda and the remains of Antonia Fortress, believed by tradition to be the site of the trial of Jesus. We'll walk the Via Dolorosa, visit the market places and bazaars and conclude the Old City visit by leaving through the Damascus Gate. From here we proceed to the Garden Tomb perhaps to celebrate communion beside the open tomb. This will truly be a memorable day! Dinner and overnight at our hotel. DAY 8: JERUSALEM Our day will begin with a drive through the Kidron Valley. We will view the Tombs of Absalom, Zachariah and James. The we will drive to the Pool of Siloam, the Valley of Hinnon and Herod's family tomb. We will once again visit the Old City, where we will see Pilate's Judgment Hall, the Chapel of the Flagellation, and the Ecce Homo Arch. This afternoon we visit the outdoor model of Jerusalem, go on to the Shrine of the Book in the Israel Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display and then to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the six million Jews who perished during the Holocaust.
